PAN BIRMINGHAM CANCER NETWORK AGREED GUIDELINES

A core function of the Pan Birmingham Cancer Network is to agree patient treatment pathways. This ensures that patients receive equitable access to the latest proven treatments and at the appropriate point in their care.

The documents that summarise the agreed patient treatment pathway are called Guidelines. They are specific to a tumour and can also be specific to imaging and pathology. The guidelines on this website have been approved by each tumour specific group, radiology and pathology groups and ratified by the Network Governance Committee. This provides the opportunity for patients, GPs, clinicians and managers to contribute before they are finally approved. Acute Trust Governance and Clinical Leads then receive the Guidelines to implement.
